ARCO began to explore community work options for adults back in the mid 80’s, then became the first agency in the Deep South to close a workshop and move entirely into employment placement and training within the regular business community. In recent years, ARCO’s Supported Work Program has expanded employment training opportunities by developing enterprise endeavors such as Sassy Kats, A Resale Store & ARCO Shred . In addition, each training site provides a valuable community service to meet the specific needs of individuals and businesses throughout Northeast Louisiana.
11 adults with developmental disabilities have meaningful employment through ARCO’s Supported Work Program by participating in the training program at Sassy Kats. These men and women have a life with purpose and pride as they offer their specific work talents, earn a paycheck, and experience full community integration.
You can keep the Kat purring by donating your gently used clothing, household items, accessories, toys, books or anything Sassy or become a Sassy Volunteer! This will make you part of the team that provides opportunities for those with disabilities throughout Northeast Louisiana.
